credentials! The National Tooling & Machining Association
was one of the founders of NIMS, the National Institute for
Metalworking Skills. NIMS was formed in 1995 by the metalworking trade
associations to develop and maintain globally competitive American
workforce. NIMS
certifies individual skills against standards and accredits programs
that meet its quality requirements. NIMS stakeholders represent over

What does that mean for you?
A NIMS credential is recognition that a person's competencies have
been validated against a set of industry-written skill standards. Now
job applicants and/or students can prove to a prospective employer
